Bumps in John Danks’ Road Back Keep Getting Bigger

In case you missed it, John Danks took the bump for another spring start Tuesday afternoon against the Cincinnati Reds. He yielded 11 hits and 10 earned runs in just 3.1 IP.

As our own @MattHoeppner pointed out on Twitter, he's really been shelled since making his first start a few weeks back. In that span of 3 starts, he's let up 20 earned runs in 9 IP, highlighted by 4 home runs. Overall, his ERA stands at 16.36.

If that is indeed the case, we'll likely see LHP Hector Santiago and/or RHP Dylan Axelrod fill in as the team's no. 5 starter until Danks' is ready for regular season big league action.

Luke Stanczyk discussed that situation at length just yesterday on GSB!   Read More >>
