Jesse Crain & Chris Sale are 2013 AL All-Stars

As announced by the Major League Baseball on Saturday evening, starter Chris Sale and reliever Jesse Crain are the Chicago White Sox' representatives for the 2013 MLB All-Star Game. The game will be held in Queens, NY in the Mets' Citi Field on Tuesday, July 16th.

Unfortunately, Jesse Crain will not be able to pitch for the American League All Star team as he'll still be on the 15-day disabled list. But he will be able to suit up and attend the game, which is good because, well, he and his 0.74 ERA couldn't deserve it any more.

He was voted in by the players. I guess that isn't too surprising, considering nobody has liked seeing him at the plate this year.

Chris Sale, despite having a 5-7 record on the 2013 season, has continued to cement his role as the south side's ace. He has a 2.79 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He also has 114 strikeouts to just 24 walks in 106.1 IP (before his start on Saturday night).

So, since becoming a starter, Sale is two-for-two on making it to the summer classic. He was put on the squad by AL Manager Jim Leyland … take from that what you want.

It seems like the White Sox have someone in the AL's 'Final Vote' every year, doesn't it? Well, they don't this year … but you can still vote for the final representatives by clicking here.
