Chicago White Sox Head Into August As One Of Baseball’s Hottest Teams, Enters Playoff Race

Left for dead as baseball went into the All-Star break, the Chicago White Sox have thrust themselves into the American League playoff picture and are one of the hottest teams in baseball heading into August.

It didn’t look great coming out of the break, as the White Sox lost three out of four to the first-place Kansas City Royals, before dropping two games to the MLB-best St. Louis Cardinals. Since then, however, the White Sox have yet to lose, winning seven straight to capture new life in the AL Wild Card picture. In fact, they now trail the Minnesota Twins by just 2.5 games for the second Wild Card berth.

The White Sox swept the Cleveland Indians in a four-game set and then traveled to Fenway Park and have taken three out of four from the Red Sox, with the series finale set for July 30. After their eight-game road trip, Chicago will play two consecutive series against the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays.

With Chicago heating up, below is secondary market ticket information from SeatSmart.com for the most expensive White Sox tickets in August.

The Kansas City Royals are all-in for another run at a World Series as they acquired All-Star pitcher Johnny Cueto from the Cincinnati Reds before the trade deadline and another former All-Star in Ben Zobrist for the infield. Cruising towards an AL Central division title, the Royals are 61-39 with a nine-game lead in the division. It’ll be tough for the White Sox to garner victories at Kauffman Stadium, as the Royals are 34-18 at home this season.
