Prices Low As White Sox Face Off Against Two Second-Place Teams

One step back and one step forward for the Chicago White Sox, who remain in last place of the American League Central division, trailing the Kansas City Royals by 7 games.

After sweeping a three-game set against the AL West division-leading Houston Astros, the White Sox went to Tropicana Field and were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend.

In the series finale, Chris Sale’s three-game winning streak was snapped after throwing 6.2 solid innings and giving up one backbreaking home run late in the game. Even so, Sale has been Chicago’s best player this year, and has been so good that he actually may end up starting for the AL in this year’s All Star Game. The dominant southpaw has recorded double-digit strikeouts in five straight starts, along with giving up just six earned runs combined over that same span.

This week, the White Sox take on the Texas Rangers and Pittsburgh Pirates. With secondary ticket information provided by SeatSmart.com, below are the most and least expensive tickets to White Sox games this week.

All three games against the Texas Rangers series are the three most expensive White Sox tickets on the secondary market this week. The Rangers have been enjoying a nice start to the 2015 campaign after posting an excellent month of May, currently being three games over .500. Being at U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox have to be weary that they won’t have the usual homefield advantage, considering Texas is 20-14 on the road this season, one of the best records by any team away from home thus far. The most expensive game of the three is Friday’s contest that includes a fireworks show as part of the postgame festivities.

Least Expensive: 6/15/2015 | Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago White Sox | PNC Park | Average Price: $27 | Get-in Price: $3

6/16/2015 | Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago White Sox | PNC Park | Average Price: $28 | Get-in Price: $5

The White Sox have an Interleague series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road to kick off the week. These are two games of the four-game set, as the White Sox and Pirates take part in a home-and-home series. After the two games in Pittsburgh, the same clubs square off for two games at US Cellular Field. The Pirates are eight games over .500, being one of the hottest teams in baseball at the moment, and boast a strong 19-11 home record.
