Toinight, the White Sox start off a 2-game home stand against the Detroit Tigers. I’d say tonight is a decently big game because for one, they’re right behind the Tigers in the standings, and two, coming off of two bad losses, the south siders could use the turn around.
More specifically, the lineup needs to pick it up. In the last 2 games the team could only muster up a total of 1 run against lowly Kansas City pitching. With Drew Smyly on the bump, the Sox are faced with a tough opponent, but it is the second time they’ve seen him this year now, so the team won’t have an excuse if they can’t start getting the bats hotter.

Paulie had the only RBI for the Sox on Sunday in the 9-1 loss to KC

On the other side of the ball, John Danks makes the start for your Chicago White Sox, coming off of a good one in his last appearance…finally. We need that to be the beginning of Danks’ year here in 2012, since the club needs him to be there stopper. If he is, then the Sox rotation will be lethal.
So “sinch it up and hunker down,” Sox fans, it’s a battle of AL Central rivals tonight. We’re just 1.5 games behind the Tigers in the standings, and it would certainly be nice to surpass them here in the next couple days.
But we can only contend if we play well at home, so that has to start up some time. Hopefully it’s tonight.
White Sox, White Sox, Go Go White Sox!
