Tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be conducting a phone interview with White Sox first round pick, Courtney Hawkins. I want to leave all of the basic, cliche questions to other members of the media. I want to get you fans the answers that you’ll really enjoy.
The interview will focus around what it’s like being an 18 year-old drafted and immediately thrown on to the big stage of SportsCenter’s Top 10, the Chicago baseball scene, rookie ball in Bristol, Virginia, and more.
We’ll talk about how the White Sox organization has been to him so far; not with useless questions “have they been good to you?,” but I want to hear the specifics: who the interesting characters are, what it’s like doing business with Kenny Williams, and more.
There will be lots more, of course, like his experience being at the draft live, what it was like shooting “Draft Me, Maybe,” if he’s suddenly done pitching, and much, much more. If you have any specific topics that you’d like to hear us discuss, comment below or tweet at @Grab_Some_Bench and I’ll see if I can work it in!
And last but not least, I’d like to thank all you guys, the readers, the followers, the fans who have helped GSB! go. I think this is a huge milestone for the site and I look forward to sharing the experience with you all!
Oh, and make sure to follow Courtney on Twitter –@CHawkins10!
